Shannon Long

I am the Education Programs Coordinator for APO and being a part of APO is truly a dream come true for me. While volunteering as a Mentor Mom for Mama Club several years ago, I would often say… “When I retire, I want to come and work here at APO.” The Lord answered that prayer of my heart as I retired from public education after 32 years on a Thursday and started working for APO on the following Monday. Being a part of this incredible organization that supports and loves pregnant teens and young parents while also showing them the love of Jesus Christ is such a daily gift!

Serving, loving, and encouraging others is my favorite thing to do, so getting to help, encourage, and support the Mentor Moms, Mentor Dads, and Young Life Leaders while creating lessons for our teen parenting classes brings me great joy.  I am married to my sweet husband Tony, and together, we have three daughters and two sons-in-law whom we adore and try to see as often as possible since they live in Tennessee and Dallas. My sweet daddy now lives with us, and it’s an honor to be able to take care of and serve him as he has taken care of me my whole life. I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and, although not an Aggie, have loved living in College Station for the last 25 years.
